This piece was originally created for a competition with the theme, ‘Tilt’. The first thing that came to mind is when the world feels shifted and as if it will never fit the right way again after someone passes away.

I chose the swans to indicate the traditional stages of grieving as a nod to the ballet piece ‘ The Dying Swan’ from Swan Lake. The title is also pulled from this ballet piece.
